Tips for Risk-free Travel to Jeju Island, South Korea

It is the duty of the Border Control of Jeju Island, South Korea to review and decide whether to permit travelers flying to the island to enter. If you are repatriated/rejected, such decision may have an impact on your re-entry into South Korea. To make sure that you can return home after being denied entry by the Border Control of Jeju Island, Spring Airlines may charge a deposit of RMB 3,000 (in words: Three Thousand Yuan Only) from you at the time of check-in for departure, as appropriate, concerning any of the following circumstances, including but not limited to:

1. You hold a passport with no visa application pages (no entry and exit records);

2. You are unable to provide proof of accommodation in Jeju Island;

3. You have not indicated why you travel abroad;

4. Spring Airlines staff are justified in determining that there are other factors involved that may cause you to be denied entry based on their personal experience.

The deposit may be charged via authorization hold. Otherwise, you will need to provide an equivalent amount of RMB cash as the deposit on site. To avoid any dispute, if you refuse to provide a deposit or authorization hold of RMB 3,000, we reserve the right to refuse your boarding, and our contractual liability will be limited to refunding the actual airfare paid by you for the uncovered segment. Spring Airlines is not responsible for any fees incurred concerning change of flight, transportation, communication, accommodation or any other expenses or losses that may be incurred thereupon.

Spring Airlines will return the deposit in full after you set foot on Jeju Island; in case you are denied entry and repatriated ("a repatriation event"), we will deduct all expenses related to your repatriation (including but not limited to costs of escorts that may be charged by any third-party security company from Spring Airlines, left luggage charges, and return airfare, if any), and return the remaining amount to you. If the expenses paid by Spring Airlines for dealing with such repatriation and for other actual losses incurred (such as administrative penalties, additional expenses or other joint losses incurred) exceed the deposit amount, you will need to compensate Spring Airlines in full against such losses. Before the aforesaid losses are properly recovered, Spring Airlines reserves the right to refuse to provide you with services again.

To avoid any dispute, you should be aware and acknowledge that such denial of entry and any subsequent acts are the sovereign acts of the government of the place of entry. Please take such risks into full consideration when purchasing tickets and traveling.
