Damaged Baggage

  1. If you notice any damage on arrival, please report it to SPRING JAPAN staff immediately.

  2. If you notice any damage after leaving the airport, please report it using the form below by the deadline (within seven days of claiming your baggage).

    Please note that we will not be able to respond to your request after the 7-day deadline.

    We will deal with the damage to your baggage according to Conditions of Carriage for International Flights.

  4. Disclaimer. We handle checked baggage very carefully, but we are not responsible for any of the following damage should it occur.

    Damage caused by excessively heavy bags and bags filled beyond reasonable capacity.

    Damage determined as everyday wear and tea

    Damages caused by bag defects

    Missing casters, handles, straps, hooks, name tags, belts, pockets, suitcase covers and other protruding accessories

    Crack,scratches, cuts, dents, dirt, etc.

    Products inherently fragile, such as personal computers, cameras, watches, musical instruments and sports equipment (golf clubs, surfboards, windsurfing equipment, bicycles, etc.), ceramics and glassware

    The 7-day deadline has passed as outlined in the Conditions of Carriage

Undelivered or lost baggage

If you are unable to pick up your checked baggage at the airport of arrival, please report it to SPRING JAPAN staff immediately. We will search for your baggage and take necessary steps on the spot.

  1. In case baggage is found

    We will inform you about the necessary procedures and returns in the future and send it to you.

  2. In case baggage is not found

    If we do not find your baggage after 21 days of searching, we will inform you about compensation.

  3. About the content declaration

    We may ask you verbally or in writing about the contents in detail so that we can use them to aid in the search. The information you provide will be important for checking when we make an offer of compensation.

  4. About compensation

    If we do not find your baggage, we will make an offer of compensation after 21 days of your declaration, according to Conditions of Carriage for International Passengers. SPRING JAPAN staff will contact you with details about compensation methods and amounts.

Forgot to pick up or made a mistake in collection

After arrival, you will need to check your baggage number to pick up baggage for customs clearance. In the unlikely event that you forget to pick up your baggage or make a mistake in collection, please immediately return to the airport of arrival, and report it to SPRING JAPAN staff. If you are unable to return to the airport of arrival immediately, please complete the Lost and Found Form and send it to our Call Center.

  1. In case you forget to pick up your baggage

    We will send your baggage to the location you specify. The customer is liable for the cost of sending baggage.

  2. In case you make a mistake in collection

    Please contact the airport of arrival or our Call Center before sending baggage. The customer who made a mistake in collection is liable for the cost of sending baggage.

Customs Clearance Agent

If you are using a customs clearance agent, we will deliver it to the location you specify after customs clearance. Usually, customs clearance by an agent can be done on the day the documents are received. SPRING JAPAN will let you know the delivery time later.

As a rule, the customer is responsible for shipping costs.

  1. In case of customs clearance by yourself

    Please contact the airport of arrival before returning to the airport. SPRING JAPAN staff will show you to customs.

  2. If you request customs clearance by an agent

    Depending on your request, we will accept customs clearance as an agent. Please contact our Call Center.

  3. Necessary documents

    • A copy of your passport

      A photo page/a page with a stamp of entry for

    • Application Form/Power of Attorney

As a rule, only the original application form or power of attorney is acceptable. Copies are not acceptable. Please bring necessary documents to the airport or mail them to us.

Lost items on board and at the terminal

  1. Inquire with SPRING JAPAN about lost items on board. Please contact us here.

  2. For items lost in the airport terminal, please inquire with the airport building.

Once you have all the necessary documents ready including customs formalities, we will send your baggage to the location you specify. The customer is liable for the cost of sending baggage.
