Usage Restrictions

There are restrictions on the use of electronic devices on board, including while on the ground, because it may affect flight safety.

A public notice issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism prohibits by law the use of restricted electronic devices on board. Violations may result in a fine of up to 500,000 yen. Check herefor details.

Q2. Are there any electronic devices with usage restrictions other than mobile phones?

A. Other than mobile phones, there are restrictions on the use of PHS, walkie-talkies, radio-controlled toys, electronic game machines, wireless headphones, wireless earphones, wireless microphones and wireless IC tags. Be sure to set your device to airplane mode so that radio waves are not emitted during taxiing, throughout the flight, or descending until you are informed by the cabin attendant after landing that it is safe to use all electronic devices.

Q3. Can I turn off airplane mode immediately after landing?

A. After landing, the cabin attendant will inform passengers on the use of electronic devices. Please follow their instructions.
